Greens Update - Nov 2025

As previously mentioned in the blogs, work has begun on the tees renovation works to the 12th and 18th. We started on the 18th with the turf removal on the areas for the white and yellow tees to begin with. Some of this has been put on to the bank on the left-hand side, ready for a new wildflower area next spring.

As the area between the old tees and the wildflowers on the right was always soft or wet, we dug a drainage trench through the whole length of the tee, with some small lateral drains coming off it. This will ensure that the area drains a lot better than it did (although that area is deep clay). The drainage pipe has already been installed on 18, and stone has started to be put in with it.

In order to provide a better coverage of irrigation to the extended tees, we have also dug a trench ready for the irrigation pipeline to be extended around to the left of the tees, so a further two sprinklers can work on the left-hand side. This irrigation work should be completed early next week.

In terms of the 12th, the white and red tee has also been stripped of the old turf. It will be widened, raised and have both drainage and more irrigation added to it, to provide more teeing ground for the future. Two new drainage lines are being installed on the tee, as well as extending the irrigation line around to the other side of the tee, as on 18.

Once the irrigation lines are put in, and the drainage is installed, we will then start to add new soil to the tees to raise their levels slightly. This will provide a better quality of tee in the long run. The 18th tees are being enlarged by around a third in total, with the 12th tee being increased around half again. This should provide much more room on par 3 tees to spread the wear throughout the playing season.
